ABOUT

SOAP is an initiative by our co-founder, Elke alongside fellow designers Charlotte Smith, Laura Strange and Ian Powell.

With the core aim to create multi-disciplinary connection for Northern NSW and Gold Coast creatives, this series of casual catch ups hones in on our shared values of collaboration over competition.

A place to connect with creative folk; artists, writers, designers and every maker in-between.

MIXED MEDIA
Look and Feel

SOAP’s brand identity is deliberately designed to be adaptable and versatile, celebrating the uniqueness of each creative professional brought on board for talks and workshops. It embraces the essence of “mixed media,” symbolising the harmonious blending of creative industries, where the digital world converges with tactile and real-life connections.

A recurring element in SOAP’s visual identity is the explosion bubble, which serves a dual purpose. It pays homage to soap bubbles, a playful nod to the brand’s name, and signifies conversation bubbles, representing dialogue and interaction.

The look and feel achieves contrast through a combination of vector-style illustrations, evoking a digital aesthetic, and pixelated graphic art, complemented by sharp-edged cut out shapes. This fusion seamlessly marries nostalgia with contemporary design.

CURATED
Events

SOAP is broken into three different types of events —

01. SOAP SOCIAL (CASUAL GET TOGETHERS)

SOAP Social events provide an opportunity for creative individuals to connect in a relaxed and informal setting. These gatherings encompass casual nights, studio visits, speed dating sessions, parties, and hands-on, tactile events. These nights foster connections and shared experiences among creatives.

02. SOAP BOX (PANEL STYLE NIGHTS)

SOAP Box events facilitate collective knowledge sharing through panel-style discussions. These engaging sessions feature a diverse panel of industry experts from various creative disciplines and career stages. SOAP aims to break down industry barriers, addressing topics that are often left unexplored. It offers a platform for candid conversations about design, art, music, clients, collaborations, tools, business, and skills.

03. SOAP SHOW (ALL ABOUT THE PROCESS)

The SOAP Show events adopt a show-and-tell format, allowing a deep dive into the creative process. Attendees gain insights into the featured creative’s career and body of work, followed by an exploration of the “how” behind their artistry. These events provide valuable learning experiences for creatives, uncovering the secrets behind successful creative processes.
